Sofka finally found stability and her dream home with her last love - Jack King, a toolmaker from Shepherds Bush, who was ten years her junior. The pair met on a trip to the Soviet Union, when Sofka worked for the Communist agency, Progressive Tours. A few years later, in the early ‘60s, they retired to a stone cottage on Bodmin Moor in Cornwall and doted on their five whippets.
